About Us
The International Research Organization for Silver Applications (IROSA) is a relatively new organization which was formed by a group of passionate professionals who believe in silver’s potential to improve human health and the environment.
The common cause for this group of dedicated individuals is a belief that an organization was needed to counter the growing body of silver-related misinformation found in the mass media. IROSA will fulfill that role by providing consumers, business and government with accurate information on silver-related technologies and developments.
IROSA was thus formed as an independent Swiss non-governmental and non-profit organization (NGO) based in Kanton Zürich, Switzerland.
IROSA will be steered by a strong and renowned scientific advisory
Board whose individual members will be esteemed in the scientific community and remain in good standing with international NGOs and governmental agencies.
Funding for IROSA comes from members, donations from the silver and healthcare industries as well as other organizations which support the sciences.
Activities
IROSA is committed to undertake the following actions:
- Pro-actively and continuously addressing unscientific or misleading information on silver technologies through public relation activities including press releases, article placements, web-based communication tools, etc.
- IROSA is daily educating and comprehensively communicating benefits and risks of silver technologies to consumers and technology adopters
- IROSA is in constant contact with leading research institutes to foster leading research on silver technologies
- IROSA is regularly in contact with governmental agencies and NGOs to transparently inform on ongoing research activities regarding benefits or potential risks of silver technologies
Support for Members
- IROSA offers members access to a regular newsletter featuring the latest scientific and regulatory activities for silver technologies
- IROSA informs its members regular on misleading information on silver technologies in the media and reports on its activities to contest these reports with scientific facts
- IROSA assists and coordinates the response of members to campaign against misinformation on specific silver technologies
- IROSA coordinates and supports efforts to promote silver technologies on the basis of sound science
